7-month-old baby found dead at ‘possible crime scene’ in N.J. hotel

An investigation is underway in New Jersey after the body of an infant was discovered at a hotel in Passaic County, according to authorities.
Officers with the Wayne Police Department were called on Wednesday to investigate a “possible crime scene” at the Days Inn, on Route 23 near Ratzer Road, NJ.com reported. When they arrived on the scene just before 1:30 p.m., they did a quick search of the property, which ultimately turned up the remains of a baby, according to a statement from the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities have provided few other details. They did not say for how long the baby had been dead and the infant’s cause of death was also unclear.
Police additionally declined to say where exactly the baby was located inside the Days Inn.
